 Situation:

Interstate Batteries is the most extraordinary battery distributor in the word today, selling over 11 million batteries a year, for everything from vintage automobiles to cameras to medical equipment to boats to everything in between. They are the number one replacement battery company in the United States today. The company uses 300 wholesale distributors to service over 200,000 retail dealers. Providing timely, up-to-date product brochures and advertisements to each of these dealers began to be quite expensive. Also the dealers wanted the ability to customize materials for specific markets. Corporate personnel were being diverted from their primary jobs to manage the huge printing and distribution issues.

Solution:
  • The On-Demand Print Center allowed marketing to segment and access all print assets.
  • All assets are available to their distributors/marketers’ desktops all over the country via a password-protected portal.
  • Distributors/marketers select a brochure or advertisement, customize it, order or download print ready materials with a few clicks of the mouse.

Impact:
  • A significant reduction in cost as well as an increase in operational efficiency.
  • Marketing personnel are free to do their jobs as the system manages the entire process, and tracks all print orders sent to numerous print vendors.
  • The company now has centralized control over the entire print process.
