San Francisco CVB Partners with NMG

Dallas, Texas - April 28, 2009 In an effort to bring more meeting, convention and tradeshow business, the San Francisco Convention & Visitors Bureau (SFCVB) and Moscone Center have paired with New Media Gateway's Hospitality Division, a Texas-based company that specializes in deploying online marketing and sales solutions to assist destination marketers in the hospitality industry. New Media Gateway will be constructing an interactive virtual 3D rendering of the Moscone Center where San Francisco's largest conventions and meetings are held annually. New Media Gateway has produced interactive 3D tours for other customers like the Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.

The value that an interactive 3D tour provides to an organization like the SFCVB and Moscone Center is two-fold. First, the 3D tour will provide their primary target audience (meeting planners) the ability to witness the convention space remotely from anywhere in the world with an internet connection. Secondly, it can eliminate upwards of 40% of printing and warehousing costs associated with traditional means of marketing and promoting the meeting space, thereby allowing the SFCVB and Moscone Center to become a much more green-friendly destination.

"Almost all destination marketing organizations and convention centers promote themselves as 'technologically advanced', yet the vast majority of sites don't feature Interactive 3D content. SFCVB and Moscone Center are walking the walk, and meeting professionals will notice", according to New Media Gateway's Vice President of Hospitality, Lou McErlean.

The new marketing piece will help the SFCVB and Moscone Center personnel to maximize their meeting space yield by providing the flexibility to move events around more quickly and easily, while keeping all space holders informed in real-time. With the economy's recent impact on the travel industry, many destination marketing organizations are looking to cut cost or personnel. Meanwhile the SFCVB and Moscone Center management is looking at ways to invest wisely in specific areas that will generate immediate savings and results, while also identifying ways to cut costs today and in the future.
